Here I sit, alone in my kennel,
Imprisoned, waiting for a friend to come;
Perhaps someone to free me from this hell,
maybe a mother, maybe just a chum.
My ears stand up, I think I heard a sound!
Beyond my cage I spy a woman's shoes.
This time, perhaps, I'll really really leave the pound!
She picks me up, I don't know what to do.
My heart's a-flutter like a pigeons wing-
The Woman carries me into a room;
A Man, a Woman, patiently waiting
to take me from this place to my new home.
A cold and lonele kitten I once was,
Now I am fully loved despite my claws.
